"Leave the most practised and well-known city paths to see what is around those walls, visible or invisible". The challenge is set: to walk to discover another city.
Unknown spaces, displaced, private, hidden, uncharacterized, the walk always seeks the alternative path, the other space.
"Life as a totality is gathered in spaces and places that are only accessible to us by experiencing them, living them".
In each space, we value its existential dimension. The mixture of discourses, memories, sensations, experiences. The multiplicity of layers, the plurality of durations.
We walk between the here and now and the history and memory of the territory. Between the nameless quotidian and the figures that endure beyond time. We seek all the clues that point to the most qualitative and subjective ways of questioning the city.

Mediation and participation:

For 6 years I've been invited to create site specific micro-performances in neighbourhoods of the city of Porto and in Coimbra, each performance resulted from the encounter with the local community and the experience of the space. 

In "bairro da lomba", we chose the old public tank as a rehearsal, creation and presentation space. The daily rehearsals aroused the interest of the local community, which slowly approached us. This daily presence in a central place of the neighbourhood naturally generates encounters and conversations, from which we created the text for the show. Time and perseverance make us "domestic strangers", a fun presence, we make friends and at the end, two girls participate in the final performance with a dance created by them. The following year it was the turn of the "Foz neighbourhood" in Porto, my place was a car park. The project was supposed to integrate a group of elderly people from a nursing home, but I had to abandon the idea due to logistical difficulties. The meeting with a couple that lived in a trailer in this car park became fundamental for the creation, that developed from their story.

This organic form of contact with people has been the main engine for the creation of these performances.
